Journal of Global Literary and Translation Studies (JGLTS) is an international, peer-reviewed, Diamond Open Access scholarly journal published by ALT Literary Press Ltd in Reading, United Kingdom. The journal is published annually, with one issue appearing each December, and is dedicated to advancing high-quality interdisciplinary scholarship in world literature, translation studies, comparative literature, literary criticism, and related fields in the humanities.

JGLTS provides an international platform for the publication of original research articles, scholarly essays, literary translations, book reviews, and critical interventions that foster dialogue across languages, cultures, and intellectual traditions. Aims & Scope

The Journal of Global Literary and Translation Studies (JGLTS) aims to advance interdisciplinary research that explores literature, language, translation, culture, and their intersections with social, political, historical, and technological developments. The journal encourages innovative scholarship that promotes cross-cultural understanding and contributes to contemporary debates within the humanities.

JGLTS welcomes original contributions from scholars worldwide in areas including, but not limited to:

  • World literature
  • Comparative literature
  • Translation studies
  • Literary theory and criticism
  • Cultural and interdisciplinary studies
  • Literary translation with critical commentary

The journal particularly encourages interdisciplinary research that examines literature and translation in relation to power, conflict, memory, identity, borders, mobility, cultural exchange, and emerging technologies. Publication Ethics

The Journal of Global Literary and Translation Studies (JGLTS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, research ethics, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal follows internationally recognised principles of publication ethics and editorial best practices to ensure the quality, originality, and credibility of all published work.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial screening, including originality verification and, where appropriate, AI-assisted content assessment, before being considered for double-blind peer review.

Authors are required to ensure that their submissions:

  • are original, unpublished works that are not under consideration elsewhere;
  • accurately acknowledge all sources through appropriate citation and referencing;
  • disclose any conflicts of interest or sources of funding;
  • have obtained all necessary permissions for copyrighted material, translated texts, or third-party content; and
  • comply with applicable ethical and legal standards.

The journal does not accept plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, manipulated citations, image manipulation, or any other form of research misconduct. Manuscripts found to contain significant ethical violations may be rejected immediately, withdrawn from review, or retracted after publication where appropriate.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only for limited language editing or proofreading. AI technologies must not be used to generate original scholarly arguments, fabricate data, produce references, or replace the intellectual contribution of the author. Any significant use of AI during manuscript preparation must be disclosed upon submission. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.

Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

JGLTS reserves the right to investigate allegations of publication misconduct before or after publication and, where necessary, to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions in accordance with established international publishing standards.
