Submission Guidelines
ALT Literary Press accepts submissions of original literary and academic work in the fields of world literature, translation, and comparative cultural studies. All submissions are subject to a rigorous editorial and, where appropriate, peer-review process.
Authors are expected to adhere strictly to the following guidelines. Submissions that do not comply may be returned without review.
1. Originality and Exclusivity
- Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
- Manuscripts must not be under consideration by any other publisher or journal at the time of submission.
- Any form of plagiarism or unacknowledged use of sources will result in immediate rejection.
2. Language
- All submissions must be in clear, formal English.
- Translations must be accompanied by the original text and a translator’s introduction.
3. Submission Categories
Academic Articles
- Length: 5,000–8,000 words
- Must present original research and engage with relevant scholarship

- Length: 2,000–6,000 words
- Should demonstrate critical reflection and scholarly engagement
Literary Works (Fiction / Poetry)
- Flexible length
- Must demonstrate literary merit and stylistic coherence
Translations
Translations must include:
- Original text
- Translator’s introduction (500–1,000 words)
- Confirmation of translation rights or author permission
4. Formatting Requirements
All submissions must meet the following standards:
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 2.5 cm (all sides)
- Text must be fully justified
- Pages must be numbered
5. Referencing Style
- All academic submissions must follow APA referencing style (7th edition)
- In-text citations and reference lists must be consistent and complete
- Submissions with incorrect or inconsistent referencing may be returned for correction before review
6. Required Components
All academic and essay submissions must include:
- Title of the manuscript
- Abstract (150–200 words)
- 4–6 keywords
- Full reference list (APA format)
7. Translation Requirements
For translated works:
- The translation must be accurate and stylistically appropriate
- Cultural and linguistic nuances must be carefully preserved
- The translator must confirm legal permission to translate the work
- ALT Literary Press reserves the right to request proof of rights
8. Review Process
- All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening
- Suitable manuscripts are sent for double-blind peer review
- The review process typically takes 6–10 weeks
Authors may receive one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit
- Reject
9. Ethical Standards
Authors must ensure:
- Proper citation of all sources
- Compliance with academic integrity standards
- Respect for intellectual property rights
ALT Literary Press follows strict ethical publishing practices and reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet these standards.

There are no submission or publication fees
11. Submission Method
Manuscripts must be submitted via the official submission form on our website.
Incomplete submissions or those not adhering to these guidelines may not be considered.
